Sean McVay says Rams must make changes: ‘We can’t continue to go on like this’

The Rams have had to make several changes to their starting lineup throughout the season, but that’s been out of necessity due to injury. Moving forward, voluntary changes will be made.

A frustrated Sean McVay said after Sunday’s loss to the Buccaneers that the Rams can’t keep playing the way they have been and that changes are coming.

“This is not good enough,” he said. “Changes have to be made, adjustments have to be made. We can’t continue to go on like this.”

McVay didn’t say specifically what changes will be made, but the offensive line is a good place to start. The Rams gave up four sacks to the Buccaneers, three of which were allowed by Bobby Evans.

Matthew Stafford has been under constant duress all season, which hasn’t been helped by all the Rams’ injuries up front. But as a unit, they must play better.

McVay just wouldn’t say whether the Rams’ offensive line as it currently stands is the best way to move forward.

The Rams tried to make one change Sunday, benching Oday Aboushi at right guard for Chandler Brewer. It didn’t work the way they hoped, but Evans was the bigger problem on the left side. He has to play better, otherwise he could be the next one to get benched.
