Sean Dyche cautions against complacency after Everton turn screw on Leeds United

Sean Dyche has cautioned against complacency in the wake of Everton's thumping win at high-flying Brighton which heaped more pressure on relegation rivals Leeds United. Everton stunned European hopefuls Brighton on Bank Holiday Monday, winning 5-1 at the Amex Stadium to register only their second away win of the season to climb out of the Premier League's bottom three.

With fellow-relegation strugglers Nottingham Forest also winning, that meant Leeds and Leicester City slipped into the relegation zone with Sam Allardyce's side now sitting next-to-bottom with three games remaining. But while that win on the South Coast was a major fillip for Everton fans in what has been a catastrophic season, Dyche knows the fight against the drop is far from over with only a two-point cushion between his team and the bottom three.

"When I walked in here the thing that hit me instantly was a big result, big everything; tough result, low everything. That needed to change in-house," Dyce told the club's website. "The in-house feel here, the environment we work in, and the flow had to get more level and more consistent in our daily work and thinking.

"We've spoken to the players and staff about it. It's important to handle good times in terms of not thinking everything is solved and right and proper.

"When I talk about seeing through the noise, that maybe implies when things aren't going right but it very much applies to when things are going right as well."

Everton face another huge test this weekend when league leaders Manchester City visit Goodison Park on Sunday.
