Defense attorney Marc Agnifilo made a compelling case in court, requesting that Sean “Diddy” Combs be allowed to remain out on bond prior to his trial. Agnifilo emphasized that Combs had no intention of fleeing and had, in fact, earned the court's trust. He stated, 'Trust is earned and we have earned it.'
Combs had recently arrived in New York, anticipating an imminent indictment. Agnifilo explained that the rapper voluntarily surrendered himself to authorities to prevent any potential harm that could occur if he were arrested at his residence. The seriousness with which they approached the investigation was underscored by Agnifilo, who said, 'We took this investigation absolutely seriously.'
To demonstrate their commitment, Agnifilo revealed that he had taken possession of Combs' and his family members' passports and meticulously documented all of Combs' domestic travels since becoming involved in the investigation. Furthermore, Combs is actively engaged in treatment and therapy, which Agnifilo cited as a reason for advocating his release.
In a letter submitted to the court, the attorneys proposed that Combs be placed under home detention, with a $50 million bond secured by his Miami residence. This comprehensive plan aimed to address any concerns regarding Combs' potential flight risk while ensuring his compliance with legal proceedings.
