A player who has worked his way to success on the PGA Tour, Seamus Power is an Irish professional that not many people know a lot about.

1. His full name is Séamus - pronounced 'Shay-muss' - Edmond Power.
2. Power was born in Waterford, Ireland on March 4, 1987. He was raised on his family’s farm and when he was eight, his mother passed away.
3. He was raised with his two brothers by his father, Ned. Three years after his mother passed away, Power took up playing golf, and to help pay the bills, Ned took a second job.
4. Grew up playing junior golf tournaments with Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry. Power is a three-time Irish Youth champion.
5. Power partially has McIlroy to thank for his career panning out the way it has. After playing golf for his high school team and hoping to attend college in the United States, Power's letters to various colleges were not garnering encouraging responses. Ready to take accounting courses at university in Ireland, East Tennessee State coach Fred Warren - who had seen Power play at the European Boy’s team Championship in Italy - offered him a partial scholarship. Warren was torn between Power and McIlroy initially but tried to sign McIlroy, only for the Northern Irishman to rip up his letter of intent to East Tennessee State in order to turn professional immediately. As a result, Power's life changed forever.
6. He worked hard in Tennessee, winning five events, including the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship twice.
7. After four years at East Tennessee State, he graduated with an accounting degree.
8. Power says if he weren't a professional golfer he'd be an accountant. "I've always been good with numbers. Math, chemistry and physics were always my strongest subjects."
9. He currently lives in Las Vegas, Nevada.
10. Power has won two PGA Tour titles so far. His first arrived at the 2021 Barbasol Championship where he beat JT Poston in a playoff. The second was at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship in October 2022 where he triumphed by one stroke.
11. According to the PGA Tour, he was top-10 in the world in racquetball at age 11-12. He also played in the World Racquetball Championship as well.
12. He speaks Gaeilge, or Irish Gaelic, the national and first official language of Ireland.
13. His favorite teams are Liverpool, Notre Dame and the New England Patriots. Tom Brady is one of his favorite athletes to watch.
14. His favorite band is U2.
15. Power loves to read and is apparently an avid fan of history books.
