Seamus Coleman gives Harry Kane a piece of his mind as Spurs join Everton in protest

Seamus Coleman was less than impressed by Harry Kane’s theatrics after he was pushed in the face by Abdoulaye Doucoure in the major flashpoint as Everton drew with Tottenham Hotspur.

As the England captain foundered on the pitch, writhing with his face in his hands, Everton’s captain made clear his thoughts on Kane’s antics. Matchday photographers captured Coleman crouching over the Spurs striker and having a word with him.

On the final whistle, Kane could be seen speaking to Jordan Pickford and then appearing to beckon Coleman over and try to explain what had unfolded. Coleman still did not look impressed.

Their fractured relationship on the night was one of a handful of standout moments beyond the game’s major talking points. Here are some more.

MATCH VERDICT: Sean Dyche has created a monster as priceless Everton truth emerges against Tottenham

Michael Keane’s ‘sighter’

It is fair to say Michael Keane had an eventful game. His last minute equaliser was a stunning effort that had Goodison bouncing. It came moments after he was the subject of an awful lunge that saw Lucas Moura see red. Earlier in the game he gave away the penalty that led to Kane scoring from the spot. It was already busy for him before those key points though and in the first half he cleared a shot off the line from Kane before attempting to get his eye in for goal. Keane controlled a Doucoure flick on his chest on the edge of the area before winding up a volley that flew over. Practice makes perfect.

Arnaut Danjuma benched yet again

With Richarlison absent this match was deprived of one of its most compelling storylines. The striker who did so much to keep Everton up last season has struggled to make an impression at Spurs - just like Arnaut Danjuma. Set to join Everton on loan from Villarreal in January he made a now notorious 11th hour decision to instead move to north London. The winger has played just 11 minutes in the Premier League and, as Goodison erupted with Keane’s late goal, must have had some thoughts on how it could have been him lapping up the adoration of the Blues faithful had he moved to Merseyside. He certainly would have earned more minutes.

Amadou Onana’s numbers

Amadou Onana divides opinion. Most agree that he is an exceptional talent but there are differing views on the impact he has had during recent matches. This was one of his best performances under Dyche. A notable presence in the heart of midfield he was a key part in applying pressure to a Tottenham back line that creaked at the started of the second half. It was Onana who stole the ball from Eric Dier to set up Idrissa Gueye for the chance that should have given Everton the lead. He was the most dominant of those in midfield on Monday and his stats made for impressive reading. Onana created two chances, had two shots on target, won possession 11 times and completed 41 of 46 passes according to analysis site Squawka.

Protest v Protest

Before the game there was another supporter march up Spellow Lane as Blues continues to call for changes to how Everton is run. The protest march has become a common pre-match feature and was well-attended again as fans made their position clear. Everton supporters are not the only ones unhappy with the wider management of their club though and, during the game, chants calling for Daniel Levy to leave his role as Spurs chairman could clearly be heard as parts of the away end made their opinions known.

Mascot Harry has the dressing room smiling

The Everton feature that saw young fan Harry Garside meet his hero Pickford at Finch Farm earlier this month was as touching as it was inspirational. The eight-year-old was diagnosed with pneumonia and sepsis at the age of five, before it was later discovered he had an eight-centimetre-long brain tumour. He has bravely fought through adversity and had another memorable experience as he was the mascot for the Spurs game. Pictures released by the club show him meeting the squad in the dressing room in touching scenes that are full of smiles.
