The Seattle Seahawks were dealt an unfortunate blow on Tuesday morning when it comes to player health. It was reported by NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo that the Seahawks are going to place linebacker and star pass rusher Uchenna Nwosu on the injured reserve list. This is an incredibly disappointing bit of news to receive.
Nwosu will miss at least the next four games, including Thursday Night Football this week against the San Francisco 49ers.
The #Seahawks are expected to place edge rusher Uchenna Nwosu on injured reserve with a thigh injury suffered against the #Giants, source says. Another tough one for Nwosu, who missed the first four games with a knee injury suffered in the preseason. pic.twitter.com/a4Q2G7sLlQ

Nwosu sprained his MCL in the preseason finale against the Cleveland Browns this past August, but avoided a stint on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list to start the year. His original timeline of missing 2-6 weeks was lining up perfectly, and he made his season debut on Sunday after missing the first four games of the 2024 campaign.
Regrettably, his return to action was short lived, as he only played 20 snaps against the New York Giants before exiting the game with a thigh injury. Now we know the severity, and it’s obviously not great.
Injuries have bedeviled Nwosu for two seasons now. In 2023, Nwosu was lost for the year after suffering a pectoral injury in Week 7. Now, he is going to miss at least eight total games in 2024. This is the second year of his three-year contract he signed prior to the 2023 season.
