Russell Wilson Seahawks Broncos Seattle Football NFL ESPNABC Fox Sports

SEATTLE — Seahawks fans won’t have to wait long for what may be the most-anticipated return of a former player in team history.

The Seahawks made it official Thursday afternoon that they will open the regular season on Monday, Sept. 12, at Lumen Field against Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos at 5:15 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN/ABC. It is the first time the Seahawks have opened their regular season on Monday night.

The matchup of Denver and Seattle was set long ago in the NFL’s scheduling formula.
