The Seattle Seahawks are set to face the Baltimore Ravens tomorrow in another cross country road trip. It is sure to be one of the premier matchups in Week 9, as two division leaders will be squaring off. However, Sunday will mark a bit of a reunion for Seattle, as the Seahawks will play against a familiar face: defensive end Jadeveon Clowney.
Clowney joined the Ravens this season after two years in Cleveland, preceded by a single season in Tennessee after leaving Seattle. So far, the former No. 1 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft is having a nice season in the Charm City.
Through nine games, Clowney has recorded 3.5 sacks, 16 total tackles and a pass defense. He is a nice, complimentary piece on a stout Ravens defense that has helped propel Baltimore to their 6-2 start.
Sunday is another huge test for the patchwork Seahawks offensive line. The last time Seattle went east for an AFC North road game, the Bengals defensive line had quarterback Geno Smith under constant duress. Seattle will need to find a way to keep Smith upright and with plenty of time to throw. Slowing down Clowney and the rest of the Ravens pass rush needs to be a priority.
