The Seattle Seahawks have selected UTSA cornerback Tariq Woolen in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL draft at No. 153 overall. This pick came to Seattle in a trade down with the Kansas City Chiefs, who gave up a seventh-round pick to move up to No. 145 overall.
Woolen is the second-consecutive draft pick the Seahawks have made at this position. They also took Cincinnati’s Coby Bryant at No. 109 overall.
Woolen has one of the most enticing physical profiles of any DB in this draft class. He comes into the league listed at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds with 33.625″ arms and 9.125″ hands. Woolen ran a remarkable 4.26 second 40-yard dash time at the scouting combine.
In 34 career college games, he posted two interceptions and nine PBUs.
