The Seattle Seahawks have begun the 2024 regular-season campaign with a perfect 2-0 record for just the seventh time in their last 25 attempts. They qualified for the postseason in each of those previous six seasons. Mainstream media outlets are beginning to acknowledge and appreciate Seattle’s early-season performances.
ESPN recently released their power rankings heading into Week 3. It’s a weekly drop that restacks all 32 franchises following their latest escapades. The Seahawks climbed a sizable nine rankings, from 19th to No. 10 overall.
The Seahawks moved up nine spots — count 'em, nine — in this week's ESPN NFL Nation Power Rankings. The theme: the most important backup/role player on every team. https://t.co/9BPGCk3YK9

Brady Henderson, the Seahawks team reporter for ESPN, also called Zach Charbonnet the team’s most important backup/role player.
“The Seahawks’ RB2 is their RB1 until Kenneth Walker III returns from the oblique injury he suffered in the fourth quarter of the season opener,” Henderson wrote. “Charbonnet handled the entire workload for Seattle’s backfield and delivered mixed results against New England. His 14 carries produced only 38 yards as he continually found no room to run. But he scored a rushing touchdown and added 31 receiving yards while catching all five of his targets. One was a third-and-6 dump-off that extended Seattle’s winning drive in overtime. Walker’s timetable for a return is unclear, which means the Seahawks might need to turn to Charbonnet again this week.”
The Seahawks are one of nine franchises that have started 2-0. They possess another winnable contest in Week 3 against the Miami Dolphins, who will be without starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa due to injury. A 3-0 start would have Seattle climbing ESPN’s power rankings once again in next week’s edition.
