The Seattle Seahawks’ uphill battle today just got a little more steep. Starting quarterback Geno Smith has officially been ruled OUT and is inactive. Smith injured his groin earlier this week, and apparently it is severe enough to not warrant him playing.
In his stead will be backup Drew Lock, who will be making his first start since 2021.
The hope here is that, while serious, perhaps Smith’s injury isn’t too serious down the road. Since the Seahawks are heavy underdogs, perhaps it makes sense to give him rest in what will likely be a loss anyways,
