Seahawks hiring Ryan Grubb as their offensive coordinator

The Seattle Seahawks are hiring Alabama offenive coordinator Ryan Grubb as their next offensive coordinator, according to a Friday-night report from Adam Schefter at ESPN.

Grubb just spent two years as Washington’s offensive coordinator, calling plays under head coach Kalen DeBoer. After Nick Saban retired from his position as head coach at Alabama, DeBoer took that job and Grubb followed him – but now will quickly be returning to Seattle.

Grubb did superb work running a pro style offense, helping Huskies quarterback Michael Penix Jr. surge over the last two years and turn into a Heisman candidate.

Grubb won’t be coming alone, either. According to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg, Alabama’s offensive line coach Scott Huff is expected to join Grubb on the Seahawks’ staff.
