Seafront funfair among fun family events taking place in Bray this summer

Bray is gearing up to attract a slew of visitors in the coming weeks as the town's summer festivities continue.

Already in full swing, locals and visitors to the County Wicklow town have enjoyed movies at the bandstand, afternoon concerts and a yoga day. With it being the middle of summer and the weather being more favourable than previous months, things are only getting more exciting with a series of great things to do and experience in Bray.

Perhaps the most colourful and thrilling things to attract families to Bray seafront this summer is the funfair, which will be there between July 16 and August 1. Expect to find bumper cars, games, stalls and candy floss daily from 2pm until 10pm.

The Bray Seafront Art & Photography Exhibition, which has already taken place in June, will return on August 28 to showcase and sell the works of local artists and photographers at the bandstand.

This coming weekend (July 16 and 17) sees Bray's first ever beach BBQ festival take place. There will be plenty of amazing food stalls along with cooking demos, DJs and some fun games.

Perhaps the most hotly anticipated event on the calendar for the area this summer is the beloved Bray Air Display, which sees the Bray Air Display teaming up with the Irish Air Corps who are celebrating 100 years of Irish military aviation. Bray Air Display takes place on Sunday, July 24 with an official practice taking place the day before.

It is a free family event with an exciting line-up of events and things to see for eager spectators, including Royal Air Force’s (RAF) Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, the return of the Royal Jordanian Falcons aerobatic team and the world-famous Red Arrows.

On Bank Holiday Monday (August 1), there will be a stunning fireworks display designed by Rocket Pyrotechnics Ireland. It will include approximately 193 fireworks which will be launched on the seafront opposite the bandstand in Bray.

Finally, Bray will play host to Heritage Week between August 13 and August 21, celebrating Ireland's culture, history, gardens and architecture.
