A couple known for their work in the community have shared their sadness following a vandal attack.
Stephen Mousdell and Kev Poole are founding members of the the Haydock and St Helens in Bloom group, and regularly give up their time for community projects- such as creating gardens and planters. They were devastated to find out on March 20, that the remembrance garden they built in Haydock had been hit by vandals.
The garden pays tribute to those from the area who lost their lives in wars, as well as victims of various mining disasters in St Helens.

It is not the first time the Huntsman Community Garden had been targeted, however this instance was particularly devastating- with items stolen and damaged.
The memorial display was damaged, with all five LED up lighting sets on the trees stolen and the crosses damaged, as well as items relating to Remembrance Day, including a robin, stolen from a memorial plaque.
Posting on Facebook Kev said: "Unfortunately we have to once again reach out to the community with regards to theft and criminal damage. Believe me when I say we are getting tired of having to create these posts too, but it's not going to stop us from doing what we do!
"The Huntsman Community Garden has been targeted this time but on a much larger scale than usual.
"All five LED up lighting sets on the trees have been stolen; this must have taken the scumbag a long time to do as there was cabling buried and wrapped around each tree several times.
"The bird feeder stand has been broken in half. But the most sickening part of this offence is that they have also damaged crosses and various other memorial items relating to Remembrance Day, along with the robin stolen from Matty Tonge's Memorial Log / Plaque.
