Lady in Blue: New Fourth Plinth sculpture brings contemporary ‘everywoman’ to London

Tschabalala Self London Aaron Chown Ekow Eshun Trafalgar Square

A new sculpture created out of a desire to bring a contemporary "everywoman" to Trafalgar Square was unveiled on London’s Fourth Plinth on Tuesday.

Lady In Blue, created by New York artist Tschabalala Self, pays tribute to a young, metropolitan woman. The artwork replaces Mil Veces Un Instante (A Thousand Times In An Instant) by Teresa Margolles.
