AGARTALA: The Tripura government on Monday announced a tax holiday for screening of film-maker Vivek Agnihotri’s latest movie, “The Kashmir Files”, in multiplexes and theatre in the state, said chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
“The Kashmir Files depicts the heart-wrenching struggle and trauma faced by Kashmiri Hindus. To support his movie and encourage the people of the state to watch it, we have decided to make the screening tax-free,” Deb said.
A large gathering was witnessed in all the movie halls as people went to watch “The Kashmir Files” for the last three days. ‘
On Sunday night, a group of people raised the slogan, “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, while watching the movie inside a hall. They reportedly demanded to screen the movie through government machinery in every village.
