Scouse player on ITV's The Chase takes huge chance for his 'love of Lego'

A player on The Chase made an impressive play after showing his passion for Lego.

Mark, Rachael, Issmyle and Kate all came together as a team to take on Chaser Jenny Ryan. They tested their wits in a bid to go home with a cash prize.

First up was Mark, from Liverpool. Bradley asked the contestant what he would like to spend any potential winnings on.

The player, 50, said: "One of my big hobbies is that I'm a Lego fan and unfortunately it takes up quite a lot of room. So if I do win my wife has said I can do the loft up and have it all set up in there."

He powered through the cash builder round, answering six questions correctly. When getting ready to go head to head with the Vixen, the chaser said: "You want to do up your loft for your Lego? Even I feel out-nerded today."

She presented the player a low offer of £1,000, a middle offer of £6,000 and a high offer of £30,000. After conferring with his team, Mark decided to aim high and went for the £30,000 as he said: "Do you know what, let's go for the 30."

Mark, who is a nursing lecturer in a university, once again showed he was keen to get his hands on his Lego room as he outrun the Chaser. He made it back to the bench adding an impressive sum of money to the jackpot.

Fans on Twitter were delighted for him as they joked that his love of the toy building blocks must have powered him through. Ian said: "Gosh. He must REALLY love Lego #thechase." Another user said: "#thechase Mark just shot his bolt."

Brian said: "First player home with 30k. You love to see it. #thechase." A fourth added: "#thechase Mark's love of Lego powering him through with 30k!"
