The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after a Bengal-type cat was found in a poor condition in Larkhall.
Scotland’s animal welfare charity was alerted to the incident after a member of the public found the cat on Mossgiel Lane on July 26.
The "distinctive" looking feline, which is being cared for at the charity's Lanarkshire centre in Hamilton, is underweight with SSPCA inspectors discovering several poor health issues.
Scottish SPCA inspector, Robyn Myszor, told Lanarkshire Live : “The cat is a 14-year-old male Bengal-type who was handed in as a stray by a member of the public. The member of the public picked him up and brought him to us as they were concerned about his condition.
“He is in poor condition, underweight with a cracked tooth and ear infections.
“The cat is not chipped to a specific owner and was not wearing a collar when he was found.
“He is quite distinctive so we hope someone recognises him.
“If anyone recognises this cat we would ask that they contact our confidential animal helpline on 03000 999 999.”
