Amidst plummeting temperatures and snowfall, Scotland's skiing and snowboarding centres are preparing for what could be their biggest week of the year.
Tuesday marked Scotland's coldest night of the year so far, with temperatures dropping to a bone-chilling -15.2 degrees Celsius. The current cold snap, which is the result of northern Arctic air, has prompted several weather warnings across the country.
While for many Scots the return of wintry weather has filled them with dread, the country's snowsports community is preparing for a bumper weekend. Snowsport Scotland's head of events and marketing Alison Grove has said that the cold weather could see many people itching to get out onto the slopes.
