A HIGHLAND port has been shortlisted for a major national award after being recognised for “driving innovation” in the industry.
The Invergordon-based Port of Cromarty Firth has been nominated for an award at the British Ports Association Annual Awards which will take place on October 9 and 10.
The port is mostly used by businesses from industries including offshore wind, oil, gas, and green hydrogen.
It is also known for being the first port of call for cruise ships that visit the Highlands.
According to the Cromarty Firth Port Authority, the hub generates £275 million per annum to the economy and is a major employer in Invergordon.
The port has been shortlisted for the Port Development Award.
In a post announcing the shortlisting, a spokesperson for Port of Cromarty Firth said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the Port Development Award in the British Ports Association Annual Awards 2024.
“It is fantastic to be recognised for our commitment to driving innovation and fostering sustainable growth within the port industry.
“Best of luck to all the nominees.”
