Scottish Parliament 'strongly advises' MSPs and staff to delete TikTok

Scottish Parliament Holyrood National Cyber Security Centre

The Scottish Parliament has "strongly advised" MSPs and staff to remove social media app TikTok from devices amid security concerns.

It comes after the UK Government banned the popular app from government-issued phones on Thursday following safety concerns over sensitive data being accessed by the Chinese government.

Beijing's embassy in the UK hit out at the move, saying the ban was based on politics and not facts.
