Robert MacIntyre Becomes First Home Winner Of Scottish Open Since Colin Montgomerie Thanks To Last-Gasp Birdie

Robert MacIntyre won his home national open in the most dramatic fashion on Sunday evening, draining a 20ft birdie putt on the 18th green to defeat veteran Adam Scott by a single shot.

The changing point of the tournament came on the 16th, where MacIntyre got a fortunate free drop from thick rough after he noticed a sprinkler under his stance. The Scot would benefit from the drop before firing his approach shot on the Par 5 to 12ft before rolling in the eagle putt.
