Scottish Masterchef star Lisa Addison launches new food business after BBC show exit

Scottish Masterchef star Lisa Addison has launched Lisa@Home, a brand new culinary business after she exited the show last week.

Many fans of the culinary expert have shared their sadness in seeing her exit the show - but Lisa has turned her experience on the show into a brand new venture for her passion in cooking.

Speaking to Glasgow Live, Lisa said: "I launched lisa@home because I want to work with food. I don't want to go back to cleaning. I reached out to Lora Burt who owns Turnip the Beet and she gave me the opportunity to take over her kitchen and launch Lisa@home sooner than I anticipated.

"The first night was a sell out and the feedback has been incredible, next pop up is again at Turnip the Beet and its Pizza night.

"Ooni has kitted me out with ovens and equipment, all gifted and so I'm officially now powered by Ooni which is insanely exciting. I have had messages with ideas for lots of different things.

"I'm most looking forward to helping Mike Bartley, last year's Masterchef contestant, in the kitchen at the Bishop Auckland Food Festival in April."

Lisa was also so grateful to receive messages of support about her sexuality, after proudly sharing her same-sex relationship on the BBC show.

Lisa continued: "I wanted to be able to let youngsters and of course older women know that it's OK to be gay. It's OK to come out in later life.

"And when it's hard, there's support out there. I'm very lucky to have a supportive ex husband and my kids love me for me.

"I just needed a wee bit of time to find who me was, food and my wife helped with that.

"To you and everyone not just in Scotland but over the UK who has sent me messages, thank you, I loved that me being on Masterchef brought a wee bit of relief from a really rough time all over right now.

Lisa added: "I've had job offers and been asked to collaborate with different people. I want to do it all. I just want to be working with food. If my story can inspire one person, I'll be a happy lady.

"Life's for living, and it's never too late to be the real you."

Lisa's next pop-up event will be at Turnip the Beet in Killearn on April 7, so get yourself down there to enjoy Pizza night!
