A Scottish lower league club failed in its attempt to sign former Rangers striker Robbie Ure at the weekend.
East Kilbride made a late offer to sign the 19-year-old before he sealed a move to the continent.
Ure left Rangers in the summer following the expiry of his contract.
The Ibrox club offered him new terms, but Ure decided he wanted to explore other options. This ensured Rangers would be due compensation for the player who came through their academy ranks.

He spent time training with Kilmarnock and Queen's Park during pre-season. He also had a trial with Dutch giants AZ Alkmaar.
But Si Ferry has told of how he made a last-ditch attempt to sign the towering forward, only to feel embarrassed when he was told where he'd agreed his future.
He explained on Open Goal: "I had the worst coaching experience. Our centre-forward was suspended, so we were wanting to get a centre-forward in.
"I was looking through players without a club. I knew it was a long shot, the boy Robbie Ure that was at Rangers. He scored 17 goals in the Lowland League last year, really good.
"So I looked and thought 'He's not F*****g signed anywhere, I'm going to brass neck it and try to sign him'.
"I asked our own to get his agent's number, David Moss. He's quite a big agent, he's taken boys to Bayern Munich.
"Mick (Kennedy) told me to phone him to see what he was saying.
"I phoned him. 'Hi David, it's Si Ferry here. It's the boy Robbie Ure. Listen I know it's a long shot,' and I just went on a massive spiel. 'We're top of the league, we're playing really well, I think it'll suit him, you can get clubs to come and watch him, even if it's only until January'.
"Then he went 'He's just signed for Anderlecht this morning mate'."
Andy Halliday chipped in: "He was on trial at Alkmaar two weeks ago and Si thought he was going to go to East Kilbride, training on a Tuesday and Thursday."
