Scottish island 'quirky home' right next to famous beach goes on sale for just £40k

A former mission hall has gone up for sale on the Isle of Lewis - and if you're a city slicker like us, you may suddenly find yourself longing to take over the quirky property.

Shared by popular Instagram account Cheap Scottish Houses, who document incredible spaces across Scotland, the hall is just a three minute walk to the nearest beach.

The building's official listing on RightMove describes the property as a 'one bed barn conversion', and property agents say that it would be "an excellent workshop, show room or development opportunity such as residential, holiday let or commercial use".

The 'one-bed, one-bathroom' property is set with an RSPB Nature Reserve and is "just three minutes walk from the award-winning Eoropie beach and its unique machair."

And although it may appear to be located in the middle of nowhere, there are local amenities such as general stores, schools, churches, children's play areas, beaches, bar, cafes and restaurants (as well as the Port of Ness harbour) all within easy accessibility of the property.

Now, excuse us while we dream of converting it into our ideal island home...
