Government ‘cosying up’ to AI data centre lobbyists

A DEVELOPER has been lobbying the Scottish Government to publicly endorse its definition of a “green” data centre, according to documents obtained by The Ferret.

The Scottish Government has backed the development of so-called “green” data centres since 2021 and in 2023 gave them special, streamlined status under planning policy.
