A group of female poets who studied Robert Burns have urged for the Bard to be regarded as a misogynist - saying his abusive entitlement is perpetuated today.
Burns was described as 'abusive' and a womaniser, who depicted women as either promiscuous or frigid.
Poets Janette Ayachi, Victoria McNulty, Susi Briggs and Morag Anderson, who have called themselves The Trysting Thorns, were commissioned by the Scottish Poetry Library for a special project in the run-up to Burns Night.
