Colin Spence held his hands up as Irvine Meadow crashed out of the Scottish Cup at Hill of Beath and admitted: "We let the club down."
Meadow were well beaten in Saturday's preliminary round replay as Ross Allum's first half double and Calum Adamson's header after the break sent the Haws through to the first round proper.
Spence and co-boss Latta would ultimately pay for the meek exit with their jobs after leaving the club by mutual consent this morning.
And Spence dropped a heavy hint of big changes to come in his post-match intervew as he admitted the buck stopped with the management duo.
He told Ayrshire Football News: "It's not good enough. I feel like we've let the club down and everyone who has worked hard to allow us to compete in the Scottish Cup.
"For Irvine Meadow not to qualify for the first round is unacceptable.
"First half, we never got a foothold at all. We didn't have a shot on target.
"We made a few changes at half-time hoping to get a wee reaction but we needed to go and get the third goal - instead we lost it.
"We've told the boys we can't be loyal to any players now - we need to go and rip it up basically.
"Ultimately we carry the can here. We need to take full responsibility. If it's not good enough, it's us that aren't good enough.
"It's a head-scratcher but we will need to go and have a long look over the weekend."
The Haws found themselves kicking into a fairly strong wind in the first half but still created by far the best chances.
Adamson and Ryan Connelly flashed efforts just wide of the target inside the opening 10 minutes before Allum's thumping close-range strike forced Medda keeper Joshua Bysouth into the game's first save.
Allum got in behind Medda's defence in 18 minutes but pulled his shot wide with just Bysouth to beat.
Meadow struggled to string more than a few passes together, more often than not resorting to hopeful long balls that the wind carried out the park.
A speculative Conor O'Donnell effort that cleared the crossbar was all the visitors could muster before Hill of Beath made the breakthrough from the penalty spot in 32 minutes.
Medda defender Jamie Whyte was judged to have brought down Allum in the box and the frontman dusted himself down to send Bysouth the wrong way from 12 yards.
Allum doubled his and the Haws' tally three minutes before the interval when his terrific hooked volley found the corner of the net.
Meadow made a triple change at the start of the second half, Kyle Faulds, Neil Slooves and Jamie Martin replacing the ineffectual Ross Smith, Ross Urquhart and Kieran Boubekri.
There was certainly more urgency about their play and four minutes after the restart David Ramsay was denied by a fine save from goalkeeper Stuart Hall.
But the Haws worked exceptionally hard to keep further attacks at bay while remaining a constant threat on the counter attack.
With 11 minutes remaining, Adamson put the tie to bed with a superb header after a perfectly timed run into the box.
Meadow kept huffing and puffing and Whyte's stoppage time header came back off the crossbar but it was far too little, too late.
Hill of Beath thoroughly deserved to take their place in the first round where they will host Highland League outfit Inverurie Locos Works.
