Scottish city centre restaurant announces closure one year after reopening

A SCOTTISH city centre restaurant has announced its closure “with a heavy heart” just one year after reopening.

Nicoll’s Steakhouse – on Princes Street in Perth – served customers for the final time last weekend after re-opening in August 2023.

In a post on social media on Saturday, the team said: “It is with a heavy heart that Nicoll’s Steakhouse had its final service last weekend.

“Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are now officially closed. It has been a pleasure serving all of our beautiful customers, and we look forward to starting something up in the future, at a different location.”

The restaurant had shut previously as a result of staff shortages, which owner Colin Nicoll said came as a result of Brexit and Covid.

Despite reopening in 2023, the steakhouse has now closed for good with customers expressing their sadness on Facebook.

One said it was “definitely the best restaurant in Perth” while another commented that it was “really sad news”.

“Another independent business gone – sad days for Perth,” said a third person.
