Scott McTominay is beginning to thrive under Erik ten Hag at Manchester United - so much so that he is keeping five-time Champions League winner Casemiro out of the team.
Casemiro’s arrival in a £60million transfer from Real Madrid had appeared to spell bad news for McTominay when the Brazilian joined last month. But so far that has not been the case, with Ten Hag showing loyalty to the Scotland international and leaving Casemiro to watch from the sidelines.
After playing the full 90 minutes in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Arsenal, McTominay has now started four successive matches in midfield. United have won all of those games and he has established a partnership with summer signing Christian Eriksen, with both mightily impressive as United brought the Gunners' winning run to an end at Old Trafford.
