Scott McDonald expects Celtic 'heart attacks' in Rangers derby thriller but happy ending awaits Ange and co

Scott McDonald believes Celtic's Scottish semi-final against Rangers on Sunday will be full of 'heart-attack' moments as the pair go head-to-head at Hampden.

The former Celtic and Motherwell striker predicts Ange Postecoglou's side will make it through to the showpiece in June at the national stadium but it will be full of drama. Celtic go into the game undefeated against Michael Beale's men so far this season with Postecoglou looking to complete the Treble in his second season in the east end of Glasgow.

Celtic and Rangers will face off on Sunday afternoon but before that League One Falkirk and play-off chasing Inverness Caley Thistle go to battle at Hampden in hope of reaching the final. Speaking ahead of the Celtic semi-final McDonald said he thinks the Parkhead club will start the game fast and try to get an early goal. He also believes there will be a lot of goals with the fixture producing 16 in four games so far this season.

McDonald told Celtic TV: "These games are always about the moments, and it is if you can take those moments and take control and be ruthless. If you can you win this game, both teams will have moments in this game we seen in the last game it goes one way then the other.

"It is a bit like a boxing match in terms of that and working each other out. I expect Celtic to come out the blocks fast and be on the front foot and score that early goal.

"I can see goals aplenty in this, a lot of heart attacks and heart in mouth moments but I'm going to go 3-1 to the Hoops. I think the shackles are off after getting that victory at Celtic Park the other week.

"We've seen the levels rise and the performances go from there so I'm fully expecting a big performance from the boys."
