Tam McManus revealed Aberdeen Scott Brown had gone 'fishing' after his exploits in the draw with Rangers.
Brown revels in his role as pantomime villain whenever he takes on the Ibrox side and Ryan Kent was in the wind-up firing line specifically at Pittodrie.
And a text exchange after the 1-1 draw shows the former Celtic skipper reckons he got the opposition hook, line and sinker.
In the closing stages the winger flew into a challenge on Brown but contract seemed minimal.
Despite that, whistler Kevin Clancy showed the Rangers man a second yellow and his side had to hold on for the point instead of going for all three like Gio van Bronckhorst would have hoped for.
As he walked off the pitch Kent had a brief exchange with the Dons captain, before Brown waved off the Ibrox attacker as he trudged towards the tunnel.
McManus, who played alongside Brown during his days at Hibs, texted his former team-mate after the match and the response was telling.
McManus told The PLZ Football Show: "I messaged him after the game and I just sent a wee smiley emoji.
"He just sent me one thing back - the wee fishing emoji.
"That's the type of boy he is, he's been like that since he was at Hibs, he gets involved in things.
"Ryan Kent has got to be more clever, more astute than that.
"It's not a red card for me but if you fly in, in that atmosphere when the referee is handing out cards for fun, an experienced player is going to roll about and try and get you sent off."
