Scott Brown on 'lovely' Celtic Ibrox title scenario as he opens up on missing Rangers clashes

Scott Brown has admitted it would be "lovely" for his old side Celtic to win the league at Ibrox later this month if they fail to win at Tynecastle on Sunday.

Ange Postecoglou's side head to Tynecastle on Sunday afternoon knowing that a win would clinch back-to-back titles under the Australian at the first time of asking. Even without a win the Hoops can lift the Scottish Premiership trophy if Aberdeen do the double over Rangers at Ibrox on the same day. The Parkhead side are 13 points clear at the summit with five post-split fixtures to go. Celtic are also on course to win the Treble under Postecoglou after beating Rangers in the final of the Viaplay earlier this year, and now reaching the Scottish Cup final against Inverness Caledonian Thistle on June 3.

Speaking ahead of the weekend fixtures in Scotland former Celtic captain and Fleetwood Town boss Brown said he misses the "big games" since hanging up his boots last season at Aberdeen.

Brown told PLZ Soccer: "We won it at Tynecastle before. It's a fantastic ground and to go and win the treble in front of 1200 fans, it'll be exciting. They'll go there obviously full of confidence and if they don't win it at Tynecastle then they can always do it at Ibrox."

He was also asked if he would have loved to have won the league at Ibrox, he replied: "That would have been lovely. It's probably the only thing that I really miss - seeing these big games and playing in them."
