Tam McManus reckons that Scott Brown could reunite with Neil Lennon to undertake an Aberdeen coaching apprenticeship.
The former Celtic captain has retained his place in the coaching setup as the club assembled an interim management team while they search for Stephen Glass' successor.
Barry Robson will lead the team against St Johnstone as Dave Cormack ramps up his hunt for the next man in charge.
McManus, who played alongside pal Brown at Hibs , reckons a reunion with Lennon could be being considered by the Dons chief.
He also reckons the likes of Jack Ross, Malky Mackay and Jim Goodwin will be in the frame for the hot seat.
McManus told PLZ: "I don't know if the Aberdeen fans would take to him (Jack Ross).
"I mean I'm looking at him, I'm looking at Jim Goodwin.
"Because of his baggage, he's probably not been mentioned, but Malky Mackay. For me he is doing a great job at Ross County and should be in the mix.
"They could go Neil Lennon and Scott Brown.
"I don't think Broony will get it just now, I don't think he's ready. He's not been doing a lot of coaching, but could he come in as a shadow coach for Neil Lennon? There is a lot of interesting ones there."
