Scott Arfield signs new Rangers deal as star insists he's on a Champions League mission

Scott Arfield penned a new deal at Rangers before immediately setting his sights on the Champions League.

The veteran midfielder joins Alex Lowry in committing himself to the club after the youngster's contract extension until 2025 was announced earlier on Saturday.

Arfield was set to become a free agent in the summer but insisted earlier this season he wanted to remain at Rangers.

And now a deal has been struck to keep the 33-year-old Canadian international as part of Giovanni van Bronckhorst 's side for another campaign.

He's determined to clinch glory in the Europa League Final later this month and help springboard the club back to European football's top table.

“I am absolutely delighted to have signed this new deal," Arfield told the Rangers website.

"I’ve always looked for longevity and stability at a club, and I am so pleased to have had that and have it going into the future here at Rangers.

“The next couple of weeks are so exciting for us with the potential silverware on offer, and also the opportunity to secure Champions League football.

“When you get to this stage in your career, your family is the most important thing, and I couldn’t imagine moving them again. To be staying put at Rangers is just fantastic for all of us.”
