Scots woman remembered as 'lovely person' as family and friends pay tribute

Tributes have been paid to a young Dundee woman who has died after a short battle with cancer.

Terri Souter died on June 2, with friends remembering her as "the best and loveliest" person. The 32-year-old, who worked as a nursery teacher, was celebrated by friends on social media.

Friend Cherlea Blair wrote on Facebook: "To all those that knew and loved Terri, I'm sorry if I've not been in touch. She was a popular gal who knew and loved and had a lot of people in her life, so if I haven't reached out then I am sincerely sorry.

"After a very short battle with cancer, she lost her fight and passed away on June 2 at 8.50am. She was as pain free as possible in the end, and we were all there for her.

"Everyone is still very much in shock, hence why it's taken so long for me to even write this. Even writing it, it still doesn't feel real. She loved and will be loved forever by all who knew her, that's just the kind of effect she had on people. Straight to the point, unfussed and very "don't mind me" attitude.

"My best friend, my biggest cheerleader and confidante. The best aunt and godmother. The best person. I love you, I'll see you later."

Leahann Foreman said: "Such a sad world we live in. Rest easy Terri Elizabeth Souter. Forever in my heart. Was a pleasure to have had many memories with you as I do and a great gratitude to work alongside you for many years. Until we meet again."

Brogan Muir said: "Sleep tight lovely lady, I will never forget you. I’ll buy a Disney bauble for my tree this year just for you, since you loved your crazy tree decorations."

Victoria Riddell wrote: "This is heartbreaking. I have the best memories from growing up with Terri in brownies and guides. So sad."

Lewis Donaldson added: "So sorry to hear about Terri. She was such a lovely person, only have good memories of her from back when."

A wake will now be held at the Taxi Club on Rosebank Street in Dundee, on Wednesday, June 21, from midday.

There is no dress code, but people attending have been asked to wear something blue, which was Terri's favourite colour.
