Scots surgeon with terminal cancer says it is 'vital' other men get tested early

A healthy Scots surgeon was stunned to learn he had stage four cancer and is encouraging fellow Scots to get themselves checked early.

Cambuslang man Gareth Jones says it was initially something he struggled to take in. The 55-year-old is an endourological surgeon at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, and his innovative work brought new kidney stone procedures to hospitals throughout the west of Scotland.

Gareth is urging other men to take the painless test now, reports Glasgow Live. He said: “It’s so vital that men get checked, it's simple and relatively painless. If prostate cancer is caught early then you have so much more of a better chance of cure.
