Scots photographer captures magical shots of Northern Lights over stone circle that inspired Outlander's Craigh Na Dun

A talented Scots photographer has captured some magical shots of the Northern Lights over the standing stones that served as the inspiration for the mysterious stone circle in the hit TV show Outlander. Emma Sarah Rennie was in the right place at the right time on Sunday night (September 4) to capture the stunning photos of the Mirrie Dancers appearing over the Callanish Stone Circle.

Overlooking the Atlantic, this magical site has enchanted all who have visited for thousands of years, and Emma loves to capture photos of this ethereal circle with all of its mystery.

The neolithic location on the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides was thought to have been erected around 5000 years ago and inspired Craigh Na Dun, the magical circle that allows Claire (Caitriona Balfe) is able to travel back in time in Outlander.
