Scots pensioner arrested after girl, six, 'attacked by dog' on beach

A Scots pensioner has been arrested after a dog allegedly attacked a child on a beach.

We told how the six-year-old girl was left injured following the alleged incident on Crammond Beach in Edinburgh.

The alleged attack took place at around 5pm on March 18, sparking an investigation.

On Friday evening police confirmed an 80-year-old man had been arrested in connection.

Enquiries are ongoing.

Edinburgh Police Division released an update on social media.

It read: "An 80-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a six-year-old child being attacked by a dog on Cramond beach which happened around 5pm on Friday, March 18, 2022.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances."
