A Scots family has given locals a peek into the past by turning their home into an amazing Jurassic Park display.
Mark and Kerry Reid, from Stonehouse, transformed their home for a local gala day, which has seen people travel across Scotland to see the epic effort.
Their son Jude, 6, was selected to be a Page Boy at the gala and as part of his role the family had to decorate their house.
Jude picked his favourite movie, Jurassic Park, and the family got down to business with a little help from pals.
The incredible transformation, which took nearly four months to complete, saw gates from the movie erected out the front of the building.
Stepping inside, visitors are transported back to the jurassic age, with realistic dinosaur cut outs and even a smoking buggy as seen in the 1993 classic.
There was even a pterodactyl flying in the sky above, while the famous music can be heard blaring out.
Speaking to the Record, Kerry explained: "Someone said to me yesterday that if they shut their eyes it feels like they are in the Universal Studios in Florida.
"Jude is absolutely Jurassic Park daft so to see his wee face when it was all ready made all the effort absolutely worth it."
She added: "It is a tradition that has been going on for 70 years in the village but that is the first one since Covid, with everything being shut down for two years, so we wanted to make it special.
“It is a big thing round here.
"If your kid gets picked to take part in the gala than you decorate your house and the kids pick a theme.
"All in it took us about four months. We got started in February and were finished just in time for the gala starting, so it was a big effort!"
Kerry, 36, says dad Mark, 38, has lots of friends who are in trades and they had a joiner, plumber and even a bricklayer call round to help create their very own Jurrasic Park in South Lanarkshire.
Amazingly, their entry did not win first, second or third prize when the judges made up their minds, but Kerry is just happy to have taken part and is going to keep up the display for a while yet.
Kerry continued: “Everyone who is selected puts in so much effort to make their houses look nice so it wasn’t too disappointing to not win the competition.
“We have just been blown away by the reception it has got and it feels like our whole community has been round here seeing it.
“We are going to keep it up for another week because the weather is due to be kind and we still have people arriving every day to see it so it will remain for the time being.
“But the main thing is Jude really liked it."
