Scots mum disgusted after teens allegedly launch stones off four-month-old's pram

A Scots mum h as said she is "disgusted" after two teen yobs threw stones across the road and hit her four-month-old daughter's pram as she sat in it.

Murron Mackay, 24, from Cumbernauld, was waiting at a bus stop near the town's Central Way with her daughter, Ariya, when the incident happened. The mum was stunned when she looked across the road and noticed two young boys throwing stones in her direction, reports Glasgow Live.

Murron explained: "I could hear some noise coming from the other side of the road but I never took any notice of it. Then I noticed something bounce past my pram, I looked but couldn't see anything. Then again I heard a ding and a stone had hit my pram.

"I happened to look over the road and saw two boys and one of them was throwing stones at a fence in the middle of the dual carriageway. It took me a second to clock on and then I realised they were the ones throwing them across the road. They were lucky enough to throw the stone through the fence and hit my pram.

"One of them was running across the road and back again whilst making gestures at cars. It was just after 5pm so that road was really busy, he could have caused a serious accident.

"I was ready to go over myself but I couldn't put myself in that position with my wee girl with me. If the hood was down the stones would have landed in her pram and maybe hit her."

She says the pair seemed oblivious to the danger for passing motorists from their reckless actions.

Murron continued: "It was disgusting and I was raging. As a mum I want to protect my child. My first reaction is to go up to them because you just see red.

"If they did hit my daughter I would have dealt with it. They had no sense of what they were doing." The mum now hopes that more police officers will step up patrols in the town centre.

Murron added: "If there were more police in the centre this may not have happened."

Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
