Scots mum details terrifying 'racist abuse' aimed at her and kids during family day out

A Scots mum was left disgusted after she was allegedly targeted by a racist yob, who also abused her two young sons. Vanessa Kanbi was leaving a trampoline centre in Edinburgh with her 10-year-old and four-month-old sons, when she claims the incident took place, reports Edinburgh Live.

The family were heading towards their parked motor when she alleges the thug accosted them before launcing a tirade of racial abuse their way. The shaken mum gave her account of the "scary" incident on TikTok.

Sharing her story with her 11,000 followers, Vanessa claimed the man shouted "You effing black b***ards" towards them. The mum believes that racism is beginning to get worse in the capital.

She said: “I was racially verbally abused in Edinburgh in Scotland. I was with two of my children, my ten year old son and my four month old son. I’d just taken my son to this new bouncy trampoline place and he’d gone for his birthday with one of his friends.

“So we were just exiting to go into the car park and somebody came out of the Lidl which was just there, we were just walking this way (towards our car) and he was walking this way (towards them). So just as he approached us, he was practically in front of us, I wasn’t really looking at him because I’m not like staring at people, and he said at the top of his voice, at the top of his lungs, yelling right, you ‘effing black b***ards.’

“I was so scared., even now recounting this, I wasn’t going to talk about it because I didn’t want to give it any of my energy, but I feel petrified. It was so scary because I was with my children.

“I told my son, in fight or flight mode, and now looking back I should have done things differently, but I said to my son to run to the car. I unlocked the car and then heard him shout ‘you should go to the Caribbean’ or something like that.”

Vanessa wanted to get away from the thug as fast as she could and rushed to get her two boys to safety. She made sure her eldest was inside and then got the baby into his car seat before the man could do any more harm.

She said: “I then took off and drove away. My heart was going at possibly the fastest it has ever gone, I was so scared, and I was so sad. I’m trying not to think about it too much as obviously I can deal with that but my son is 10. My four month old was obviously not aware of the situation.

“He has to go through that in his own country that he lives in and it made me wonder how he is going to deal with this. He was just like that is basically what I have been through at school, which is just so, so awful.
