A Dumfries mum whose daughter died in hospital days after attempting to take her own life is backing a new service that will help victims of domestic abuse in Dumfries and Galloway.
Rochelle Gray said if the ASSIST service to support victims through emotionally difficult criminal court proceedings had been in place earlier, her daughter Marley McCulloch would “still be here today”.
But she died two years ago aged just 24 following a sustained campaign of domestic abuse at the hands of her ex-partner.
