Scots man found guilty of rape acquitted by court on legal technicality

A man was acquitted by a court on a legal technicality despite being found guilty of rape and sexual assault by a jury.

At the High Court in Edinburgh, a guilty verdict was returned on two charges alleging joiner Grant Gourlay, 59, had raped Ms A on various occasions in Dundee.

The jury also found him guilty of sexually assaulting her.
