A Scots man who was left 'in tears' after winning a £100,000 Lamborghini has crashed his 'pride and joy' only weeks later.
When Grant Burnett collected his Lamborghini Huracan last month, January 14, he was filmed spraying champagne and telling raffle firm Click Competitions the moment his 99p ticket win was 'life-changing'.
But the 24-year-old, who chose the supercar instead of £100,000 cash, crashed the motor weeks after receiving the keys and was mercilessly trolled online.
One image believed to feature the 'written off' vehicle shows its bonnet and bumper crumpled while another shows some side panelling peeled away - next to a Click Competitions-branded beanie.
Grant replied to the image of the smashed up vehicle to say it 'wasn't his fault', before taking to Facebook earlier this month, February 7, to blast users mocking his rapid change in fortune as 'jealous rats' who 'probably will never own one'.
The car lover from Falkirk, explained that his crash wasn't caused by him speeding but that 'some cow' hit the back of the Huracan and made it 'spin out' of control.
He posted an image appearing to show a scratch above the rear left tyre as 'proof' - however his photo failed to show the front of the vehicle, where commenters claimed the main damage was.
Grant then commented on a Click Competition Facebook post to tell mocking users he 'wasn't at fault'.
The Lamborghini Huracan is believed to be worth around £100,000 and Grant, who admitted he was a 'little sore' after the crash, says he's splashed out to insure it for 12 months.
Grant's post said: "F**k the lot of you sharing the photo of the Lambo and trying to say it's my fault doing 150mph.
"The car would have crumbled if a hit the barrier at that speed.
"I wasn't at fault for the crash because some cow hit the back of the car making me spin out. Photo to prove to all the jealous rats."
One user commented: "Don't worry about the people talking. It's sheer jealousy and I wouldn't rise to it."
Another said: "At least you're alright though. I wouldn't give a s**t what people are saying. What they don't know they make up."
Grant replied: "Jealousy rips out them. It's too funny. But aye, I'm just glad I'm alright. Just a bit sore - though alive."
Click Competitions have been operating since June 2020 and run raffles with prizes including cash, cars and the latest technology for low entry fees.
They posted a video showing Grant, who supposedly paid less than £25 to enter the raffle and buy 25 99p tickets, being interviewed and spraying a bottle of fizz to celebrate his win.
Grant said at the time: "I can't even describe it, honest to god. It's life-changing and I was in tears because obviously I never thought I'd win something like that."
CJ of Click Competitions said: "It's sad to see anyone's pride and joy involved in an accident. Metal can be replaced and we are glad to see no one was seriously hurt."
Grant was contacted for further comment.
