A Scots dad says his family has "nothing left" after a faulty cooker plug sparked a huge blaze that burned their house down and destroyed all of their possessions.
Scott Wilson had popped out to visit his gran with partner Caitlin Medwik and daughter Kayleigh when he got a call from a neighbour to say smoke was "pouring out" of his windows. The 23-year-old rope access technician rushed back home and burst in through the front door to rescue spaniel puppies Buster and Luna before watching helplessly as the flames consumed the house, which he bought almost five years ago.
Despite losing everything but the clothes on their backs, Scott says the family has been heartened by offers of furniture and support from their neighbours and the wider community in Rosyth, Fife. A GoFundMe fundraiser arranged by his sister Lesley Simpson has also raised £500 since it was launched on Tuesday.
