Scots driver clocked doing 140mph on M80 arrested for drug-driving

A man has been arrested after being clocked doing 140mph on the M80 while under the influence of drugs.

Officers observed a black vehicle speeding on the motorway on Saturday night at around 9:20pm.

A 31-year-old was arrested for a number of offences, including driving while under the influence of drugs.

An image shows the black car on the motorway as it reached a whopping 149mph.

A tweet from Police Scotland today warned drivers that such behaviour on the roads is 'unacceptable.'

It read: " Glasgow Road Police last night observed a 31 year old male driver fly past them at 140MPH+ on the M80 while unmarked.

"The driver was stopped and arrested for offences including drug driving.

"Driving at double the maximum speed limit is completely unacceptable.
