Scottish DJ Ewan McVicar is the latest talent to join BBC Radio 1's Residency for the month of June.
The former warehouse worker will be hosting Residency for the first four Thursdays this month from midnight to 1am.
The Ayr born disk jockey released his breakthrough single , Tell Me Something Good, last year as it peaked at number 15 in the UK charts.
It was also voted best track of 2021 in BBC Radio 1’s Dance Awards and DJ Mag’s Best of British Awards.
Radio 1's Residency show is set to bring listeners the 'the biggest names in dance music from the underground to the arena' - and the 28-year-old DJ will be across the airwaves tonight.
Taking to Instagram, Ewan said: "Beyond excited to be joining the @bbcradio1 Residency alongside maestros @anfisaletyago @vynehall @archives.nia @danshake_ & @chippyxnonstop
"Catch me on R1, the first 4 Thursday nights in June from MIDNIGHT - 1am
"1. Tribute to Sub Club - TX 02/06
"2. Underground Heroes - TX 09/06
"3. Living Legends - TX 16/06
"4. 100% Unreleased - TX 23/06"
It has taken him eight years to find success but he’s now being recognised in the street thanks to his first hit.
Ewan said: “I get folk running up to me and asking for a photo. I don’t mind as it tells me what I’m doing is good. So, if anybody wants a photo, just ask.
“Tell Me Something Good was released under the radar and grew out of control, which is so, so amazing. I make music for me and if anyone else likes it, it’s a bonus.”
Ewan played his first show at Glasgow's Sub Club last year, but is set to travel across the UK this summer for the festival circuit.
The hitmaker will perform at Parklife, Fields of Fantasy, Boardmasters and more.
