Dean Banks was left stunned after an unusual request to cook in the buff at a nudist couple's anniversary barbecue.
The award-winning Masterchef finalist admitted he'd been "tempted" by the cheeky offer of work and joked that his decision would depend on whether the "price was right".
Arbroath-born Dean, 34, revealed he received the proposition via an email this week to his swanky Edinburgh restaurant, Dean Banks at the Pompadour.
He told the Record: "I had a good laugh with the General Manager about the email when it came in, and showed it to my wife when I got home too."
When asked if he completely rules out becoming a naked chef, he added: "I'll have to wait for the right offer to come in."
Shockingly, it turns out this is not the first time the celebrity chef, who also owns Haar in St Andrews, has been asked to do a job with a difference.
Before his rise to fame, Dean, who trained at Rick Stein's The Seafood Restaurant, worked as a private chef and told the Record unusual requests were more common place back then.
He added: "The weirdest request I accepted was when I worked in Switzerland, and worked at a burlesque themed party wearing nothing but boxers, an apron and a top hat."
Dean shared the hilarious email with followers on Twitter yesterday and said he hoped to give others the "same laugh" it gave him.
The email, titled 'Private Chef', said: "Hi Dean, short email just to test the water. "Would you be up for being a literal 'naked chef' at an anniversary barbecue for two nudists? A bit weird, but completely legit."
After travelling across the world and working in a variety of different countries, Dean moved back to Scotland in 2018. It was this moment that prompted him to apply for Masterchef: The Professionals, where he wowed the judges from day one and made it all the way to the finals.
After the success on the show, Dean opened his first restaurant, Haar, in St.Andrews in 2019 which was soon added to the Michelin Guide within its opening weeks. With his career going from strength to strength, he then opened Dean Banks at The Pompadour in June 2021. Now he is gearing up towards opening his third restaurant, Dulse, in Edinburgh, which will take over the former L’escargot Blanc on Queensferry Road, offering the best of Scottish seafood.
