A care homes chief has warned a large number of facilities could close in Scotland if issues around the cost-of-living and NHS crises are not addressed.
Donald Macaskill, chief executive of Scottish Care, which represents the interests of private care home owners, issued a dire warning to Scottish Government ministers about the situation in homes across the country.
He predicted that around 40 per cent of the 800 homes could be forced to shut due to the current crisis across the health service.
